Ioannis Charonitis
Yiannis, born and raised in Malia, practically grew up in his mother's kitchen. He has enjoyed working in the family tavern since 1984 and spent 4 years working in London's trendy restaurant 'Chateaubriand Tower'.
Yiannis is the soul of Eva Taverna: he sees to it that everything rolls smoothly.
Yiannis buys all-fresh ingredients from the market on a daily basis: "I want to please our customers and give them a taste of what honest home-cooked Greek food should taste like. Pure and full of flavour, as it all evolves around honesty."

Charonitis
Named after his beloved daughter, Eva, this Taverna is the life’s work of Yannis’s father. Even now, his passion for the kitchen and his joy in satisfying every guest remain as strong as ever. Though he faces the challenges of time, his motivation never wavers. You can still find him where the magic happens—in the kitchen—ensuring that every plate carries the authentic touch that has defined us since 1984.

Kaliopi Charoniti
Yannis practically grew up in his mother’s kitchen, absorbing her secrets and her deep passion for cooking. Today, we honor her memory by keeping those authentic flavors alive. Her legacy continues through every plate, every smile, and every guest who joins our table.
